District-11, Mitchell High School from Colorado Springs
Mitchell High School believes all students can advocate for their own needs and actively supports this development. Every student with an IEP leads their own meetings, reflecting this commitment. As a result, a group of these self-advocating students shares their experiences with community groups, state and national conferences, and even international educators, conveying the message that all students can succeed and deserve to speak for themselves. This aligns with PEAK Parent Center’s mission of enabling all children to participate fully in their schools and communities.
