The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory enrollment program that works with other military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated community support, housing, educational, medical, and personnel services to families with special needs. The overall goal of EFMP is to help Families accompany the Service member to the right duty locations, not to exclude them.

Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC)
MCEC supports all military-connected children by educating, advocating, and collaborating to resolve education challenges associated with the military lifestyle.
National Military Family Association (NFAM)
National Military Family Association (NFAM) provides programs for kids, parents, and the entire family unit, including summer camps for kids as well as family retreats. Child Care Fee Relief is also offered occasionally through a program at the National Military Family Association, so be on the lookout for eligibility requirements and deadline dates.

Military One Source is part of the U.S. Department of Defense’s network of support for the military community. For service members who have family members with special needs, Military OneSource assists with special education, financial planning, child care and much more to help your family thrive.

Find Your Parent Center (Families Moving/Planning to)
Military families raising children with disabilities can access free support and training through Parent Training and Information Centers (PTIs) and Community Parent Resource Centers (CPRCs). These centers help families navigate IEPs, 504 Plans, special education laws, and school transitions—especially during relocations. TriCare - Health Care for Uniformed Service Members
TRICARE is the uniformed services healthcare program for active duty service members, active duty family members, National Guard and Reserve members and their family members, retirees and retiree family members, survivors, and certain former spouses worldwide. TRICARE offers several services under the basic TRICARE benefit for beneficiaries with special needs.
