Session 2 – Being a Family Leader

Presenters:

  • Megan Bowser is a Mom of 4, including 2 with additional needs. Her 12-year-old son has multiple disabilities, including deafblindness, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and autism, and is who introduced her to the world of advocacy. She now is the Executive Director for Family Voices Colorado, assisting families with children with special healthcare needs access the healthcare resources and government systems they need to thrive. Additionally, she is the founder and administrator of the Denver Special Needs Parent Community, an online resource connecting for over 3,000 local parents to peer support. 
  • Danae Davison is a Parent Advisor at PEAK. She has three children, one with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, who guides her passion for families in special education. You will hear from her in the second part of this presentation.
