Transition Curriculum Specialist
Maribeth has been part of the PEAK Parent Center team since 2021, but became a part of the PEAK circle while attending her first Conference on Inclusive Education in 2015. She has a passion and background in working with students with disabilities. She strives to create an inclusive, equitable community and wants to help create that for youth and help them find their journey. She has a MS in Special Education and Elementary Education, as well as a Director of Special Education Administrative License. While working at PEAK, she has learned how to be more open minded and think about how her actions and opinions/bias can affect others. She has shifted her thinking and has a better understanding of ableism.
Her family is very important to her and becoming a mother has shaped who her into who she is today and why she is so passionate about the work that PEAK does. She wants to make sure to raise her children to be caring and accepting individuals and to realize we are all different and unique and that is what makes us who we are.
She enjoys running and cookbooks (even though she claims she is not that good at cooking). She is grateful for her beautiful family and enjoys spending time with them exploring Colorado on the weekends.
