Giving Thanks and Appreciation

PEAK experiences many blessings as we work across the state of Colorado and beyond to ensure that children and adults with disabilities can live fully included lives in their schools, communities, employment and each step of life!  We are honored to know and to be touched by many incredible individuals and families across the country who share our values. Every person brings unique talents, strengths, and abilities to the tables of their communities, and it is not until we realize that and attune to those strengths and talents that our communities can be whole, healthy, and thriving.

PEAK Parent Center was established as Colorado’s federally designated Parent Training and Information Center in 1986. For over 33 years we have worked to make inclusion a reality for the 1 in 4 individuals that experience disability. Throughout the last year, PEAK has been engaged in activities to build access and opportunity for individuals with disabilities. A few notable events include holding our 34th Annual Conference on Inclusive Education attended by over 450 people, including 22 student leaders. We delivered 41 trainings in 30 different communities; several of which were in Spanish. We had 182 youth attend trainings, delivered 20 webinars. And we helped over 2,800 individuals in Colorado!

We’re proud of what we do, but we know there is still much to be done and our goals are even more ambitious in the year ahead. Join us in making Colorado a place where we can all feel the sense of belonging that inclusion brings. Help us make Colorado a place where we can all thrive! Please consider a donation to PEAK during this time of giving. Thank you for being a part of our PEAK Parent Center community and for helping to ensure EVERYONE’S strengths are valued in the classroom and beyond!
